Time to Shine

The regular season is over, conference tournaments have concluded, and now it's time for the National Tournament!

Wake Tech men's basketball woke up this morning in Danville, Illinois with the same motivation they've had all season long- play to win.

This time, the stakes are higher.  The games are being played at a spot that's become the home to the DII National Tournament.  It's where teams have made a pilgrimage for the last 26 years.

So sacred is the National Tournament to Danville Area Community College that they renamed the playing floor after longtime chairman, Dick Shockey, who passed away in November.  Shockey was instrumental in bringing the NJCAA DII National Tournament to Danville and making sure it became a staple to the region.

The gravity of the moment is not lost on our student-athletes, coaches, and fans.  To see our Eagles soar to new heights is a culmination of their determination to bring a championship back to Wake County.

Although the team is more than 700 miles away, Student Activities has organized a watch party so students, faculty, and staff can cheer on our Eagles!

Join us for a night of Eagles basketball!
