It's been a remarkable year for Eagles catcher Martin Muzik. He spent the summer playing baseball for his home country of the Czech Republic in the U23 European Baseball Championship 2017.  Czech Republic went 3-0 in group play with wins over Lithuania, Ukraine, and Belgium.  In the knockout stage, the Czech Republic defeated Spain and France to earn a trip to the finals.

In an extra inning affair, the Netherlands took the 2017 under 23 title over the Czech Republic 10-9.  Martin Muzik was selected as a top 20 prospect by Extra Innings: Baseball Around the World.  The Wake Tech catcher was also named Best Hitter at the tournament.

In June, Martin was selected as a NJCAA Second Team All-American with an outstanding first season for the Eagles: .406 batting average, 10 home runs, and 47 RBI's. His numbers in conference play were .456 batting average, .514 on base percentage, and .867 slugging percentage.
