BSB: Eagles Drop Double Header to USC Salkehatchie

Maintainig a perfect season in baseball is a tall order, so the Eagles can take a few lessons from a two game sweep at the hands of USC Salkehatchie on Sunday, February 18th.

Game 1:

Indians starter Chase Ferguson threw a masterful game against Wake Tech.  He pitched five complete innings while only allowing one hit and striking out three.

It was a tough outing for our Eagles on the mound.  According to the box score, Wake Tech allowed nine runs on 12 hits while only striking out two batters.

The only hit of the game for Wake Tech was registered by Vance Deese who went 1 for 2 on the afternoon.

Game 2:

Wake Tech jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings, but the Indians combined for nine unanswered runs to take a 9-3 lead into the top of the sixth inning.  Wake Tech was only able to add an additional two runs to fall, 9-5.

Ellis Stokes went 1 for 2 with one run and two RBI's, Max Ruskie hit 1 for 2 with one run and one RBI.

The next game for Wake Tech is Wednesday, February 21st as the Eagles travel in town to face William Peace University JV team at 7:00pm.
