BSB: Former Eagle Drafted by Angels

Austin Warren becomes the first Eagle in the history of the program selected in the MLB Draft.
Austin was selected in the sixth round with the 161st pick overall by the Los Angeles Angels.

Wake Tech baseball is celebrating one of their own as Austin Warren becomes the first Eagle in the history of the program selected in the MLB Draft.

The Fayetteville native was a valuable member of the team.  Austin earned All-Region X honors, posted a 7-3 record, a 2.69 ERA, and struck out 83 hitters in 67 innings.  In the batter's box, he hit .320 with 14 RBI's and seven stolen bases.  Austin's hard work, on and off the field, earned him a spot at UNC Wilmington.

During his senior season, Austin led the Seahawks with 28 appearances, ranking third in the CAA, and struck out 11.22 hitters per nine innings for the year.
