Plummer signs with Virginia Commonwealth University

Wake Tech baseball standout Caleb Plummer has signed a national letter of intent with Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va.

Plummer joined the Eagle program from Crest High School in Shelby, NC.  He helped the Chargers advance to the championship game in his junior (2017) and senior (2018) campaigns.

Plummer only appeared in two games as freshman in 2019 regular season due to an injury.  However, during the Eagles' fall 2019 season he pitched in eight innings with sixteen strikeouts with a 0.00 ERA and allowed just one hit.

VCU is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference and finished last season with a 39-19 record with wins over the UNC Chapel Hill, ranked No. 6 at the time, the University of Central Florida, and Duke University.
