HOLLY SPRINGS, NC – Wake Tech won the second game of Saturday's doubleheader over Guilford Tech, 11-4, to clinch a spot in the NJCAA Region 10 Division II tournament May 14-18.

The Eagles had an 11-0 lead after four innings before the Titans plated three runs in the fifth and one additional run in the seventh.

In all, eight different Eagles recorded hits with Andy Duran the only one with multiple hits going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and a double.  Christian Schmidt went 1-for-2 with a triple and 3 RBI. Johny McDonald went 1-for-2 with a homerun and 2 RBI. Matt Long also had a double.

Camden Munise (3-1) earned the win for Wake Tech. He recorded nine strikeouts while allowing three runs off five hits over 6.0 innings.

In the first game, the Eagles rallied from an 8-2 deficit plating five runs in the ninth inning but couldn't make the comeback complete falling 8-7.

Nick Badgett went 3-for-4 with a homerun and JR Gupton Jr. with 3-for-5 with 2 RBI to lead Wake Tech's offense.  Matt Long went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in the ninth. Schmidt was 2-for-4 with a double.

Bryson Wagner (4-5) earned the loss for the Eagles despite recording eight strikeouts in 5.1 innings.

Wake Tech and Guilford Tech wrap up the regular season on Sunday at noon at Ting Stadium in Holly Springs, NC.
