Wake Tech advances to NJCAAE Overwatch Championship Game

Esports competitor leads Eagles to 3-0 win

In their inaugural season, the Wake Tech Overwatch team is advancing the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) Spring Championship game.

The Eagles, seeded No. 5, knocked off top-seeded Finger Lakes (NY) Community College 3-0 to advance to the championship.

"I'm incredibly proud of the student-athletes," said Wake Tech Esports Coordinator Chase Summer. "Each game they've built stronger chemistry throughout the season and their hard work and dedication is paying dividends." 

The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, May 2, at 2pm.  The Eagles will play the winner of the Bryant & Stratton (Va.) College and SUNY Broome match-up.
