Men's Basketball Season Schedule Released

We're more than two months away from the official start of the season, but fans are getting an early glimpse at tough schedule for Wake Tech men's basketball.

The regular season will tip off on November 1st with a home game against a Johnston Community College, program that is on the rise.  Region X is one of the toughest conferences in the country.  The conference is so tough year after year, there are two direct bids to the NJCAA National Tournament from the league. Here's the breakdown, the regular season champion receives an automatic bid to nationals, so every game is important if we want to meet our goals as a program.  The other bid goes to the tournament champion.

In 2016, Louisburg and Richard Bland finished 2nd and 4th in the country respectively at nationals.  Not to mention the other tough teams in our league such as Catawba Valley, Patrick Henry, and Pitt- teams that are always very well coached. There are no easy games in once we get into conference play.

The Eagles will also be challenged on the road with out of conference games with Cape Fear, Brunswick, Wallace State (AL), South Georgia Tech, and Sandhills.  Coach Adam Wainwright knows the difficulty of the 2017-2018 schedule, "we will find out quickly what we are made of.  We have a great recruiting class coming in and we feel like it's necessary to challenge them and our returners from day one to prepare them for next March.  If they are prepared for the challenge and are willing to work hard on the court and in the classroom, the sky is the limit for what they can achieve."
