Omar Asad Joins Men's Soccer as Assistant Coach

Wake Tech men's soccer welcomes Omar Asad who joined the Eagles in August 2017. Asad brings a lifetime of experience of the game of soccer.  The Raleigh native had a decorative high school career followed by ACC playing experience while attending NC State University. 

"With Omar, I am thrilled to have an accomplished former college player as an assistant coach," said Head Coach Ted Awana. "I am excited to get him involved in all aspect of the collegiate game as he will be a crucial component to the success of Wake Tech men's soccer. He brings energy, excitement, and an eagerness to learn. I am really looking forward to having Omar on the field with the team. I couldn't have asked for a better hire and am grateful for his presence here with men's soccer." 

Among Omar's accomplishments, he was a standout center forward at Athens Drive High School in Raleigh.  He was recruited by NC State and completed a Business Administration degree in 2012. Currently, Asad coaches at Wake Futbol Club where has has served on staff since 2013.
