Earlier this year, Wake Tech soccer made Ting Park in Holly Springs their new home pitch. The Eagles did not disappoint in their inaugural match with a 2-1 win over Spartanburg Methodist. A potent attack, built on the shoulder of a stifling defense, gave the Pioneers fits throughout the contest. Wake Tech relied heavily on pressure in the midfield and the defensive third to stop any momentum from Spartanburg Methodist.
Sergio Romero stamped his name in the history books as the first goal scorer for Wake Tech at Ting Park. A well placed finish after an outstanding pass from Carlos Ortiz gave the Eagles a lead they wouldn't relinquish at the 20 minute mark.
Eleven minutes later Momoyan Kamara would net the goal to seal the victory, putting the Eagles up 2-0 with Sergio Romero adding the assist.
