Eagles defeat Louisburg in conference opener

RALEIGH, NC - Kayden Richter scored two goals to help lead Wake Tech to a 4-1 victory over Louisburg College in the Eagles' conference opener over the Hurricanes Saturday evening at the WRAL Soccer Park in Raleigh.

Richter found the net early off an assist from Agripino Perez in the ninth minute of the opening half. Logan lorbacher closed out the first half with a goal assisted by Sam Moncrieff to give Wake Tech a 2-0 edge at intermission.

Once again it was Richter that scored quickly in the second half, just two minutes into the closing period, with an assist from Joshua Davila. The Hurricanes (2-1; 0-1) narrowed the Wake Tech (2-2-1; 1-0) advantage with a goal in the 55th minute.

Agripino Perez recorded the Eagles' final goal with help from Lloyd Turey and Miguel Cazares Vazquez in the 68th minute.

"Total team effort for the Eagles tonight," said Wake Tech head coach Omar Asad. "They had a great week of training in preparation for the game. Very proud of their effort and determination to get our opening conference win."

The Eagles travel to the University of Mount OIive on Monday for an out of region match-up with the Trojans' Developmental Team at 7pm.
