Correll and Edmondson shut out Camp in doubleheader

RALEIGH, NC – Wake Tech Softball recorded two impressive wins on Wednesday afternoon, taking down Camp 11-0 and 9-0. Leah Correll pitched her first career no-hitter in game one, striking out a career-best 13 batters over five innings. Only two Camp batters reached base, one was hit by a pitch and the other reached on an error. 

Cyndia Dobbins and Nala McCallop each homered in the first game, combining for five RBIs in the game.

Game two saw Hailie Edmondson toe the rubber, and she pitched the first complete game shutout of her career. She struck out five batters over five innings, allowing four walks and two hits.

The hits kept coming for Wake Tech in the second game as they plated nine runs. Marie Whalen followed up her multi-hit performance in game one with another one in game two. Whalen is now hitting .389 on the season while manning the leadoff spot for the Eagles.

Ayla Hammonds finished the day going 5-5 at the plate with 3 RBIs.

Wake Tech has now won their last three games. They are 9-11 on the season and 5-5 in conference play. This weekend, they'll play a three-game series at Catawba Valley, who are 13-2 on the season, and sitting in third place in the Region 10 standings.
