Sophomore Spotlight: Khadijah Daniels

Sophomore Spotlight: Khadijah Daniels

If you want to get a better handle on what Wake Tech women's basketball is all about, look no further than sophomore guard Khadijah Daniels.  Head coach Barry Street has watched Khadijah over the last two seasons and he's impressed with her work ethic and development as a player.

"She's grown from a freshman reserve to a dominate scorer and leader, on and off the court," said Coach Street.

That's not all, she's also on track to graduate this spring and if all goes well, we might see her suiting up at a 4-year school to continue her academic and athletic career.

Khadijah is humble when asked about her success, "I've had multiple people help me become a better player this year. The coaching staff at Wake Tech- especially Coach Gilbert, my teammates, and friends who have challenged me every time I step on the basketball court."

It's easy to see she's worked on her game and her confidence is soaring.

"The aspect of my game that has improved the most is my confidence," Khadijah continued, "I know I'm a threat when I have the ball in my hands because of how hard I have worked during the off season."

Against four teams (Catawba Valley Community College, Central Carolina Community College, Fayetteville Tech, and Lenoir Community CollegeKhadijah Daniels was on fire.  She averaged 32 points against these opponents and shows no signs of stopping as we head down the home stretch of the season.

Check out these eye popping stats from each contest.  We're looking forward to watching her finish out her sophomore season as an Eagle!
