WBB: Eagles Slow Pace, Trip Up Central Carolina

WBB: Eagles Slow Pace, Trip Up Central Carolina

You have to admire the spirit of Central Carolina Community College.  Head coach Frank Scutiere kept coaching, and his Cougars were receptive to his words.  When only five players are suited up, fatigue will eventually take its toll and that was the case by the second quarter.

The Cougars were within four points after the first ten minutes of play, but a 23 point outburst in the second quarter vaulted Wake Tech to a 34-11 halftime lead.

Wake Tech tried to slow the pace, but the score kept climbing and by the final horn the Eagles claimed a 69-22 victory.

Myrayna Watkins led the Eagles in scoring with 19 points, Khadijah Daniels runs her double digit scoring streak to 11 games after contributing 18 points, and DaShawna Smith added 10 points in the win.

The next home game for women's basketball is scheduled for Saturday, February 17th when Wake Tech welcomes Catawba Valley at 2:00pm.
