It wasn't the ending to the calendar year the Eagles had hoped for, but the holiday break arrives at just the right time to evaluate where the team is heading as we enter 2019.
Game 1
Wake Tech vs Monroe Community College
The Tribunes jumped out to a sizable lead and Wake Tech had a difficult time reeling in MCC before the final buzzer.
Emily Davis was unstoppable on offense and led the Eagles in scoring with 32 points. Her efforts also included being 10 for 10 from the free throw line.
Denea Wilson grabbed 10 rebounds and added 8 points in the loss.
Wake Tech may not have come out ahead, but the Eagles were back in action for game two of the tournament on Sunday.
Game 2
Wake Tech vs Cuyahoga Community College
The Eagles were at a disadvantage from the opening tip against Tri-C, who plays in the NJCAA Region 12, out of the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
Cuyahoga jumped out to a 33-19 halftime lead. Wake Tech was stifled on offense, the Eagles were only able to add nine points in the third quarter.
Emily Davis was held under 20 points for only the fourth time in eleven games this season.
Shooting woes did the Eagles in for their final game in Maryland. Wake Tech was 12-45 from the floor and only managed to hit 12.5% of their three-point attempts.
For Wake Tech, they'll be on holiday break until January 5, 2019. The first contest for the Eagles of the new year will be on the road against Bryant & Stratton.
