Eagles back to winning ways against Central Carolina

RALEIGH, NC - Wake Tech Women's Basketball won big at home on Wednesday night, defeating Central Carolina 83-62.

Forwards Amyah Woodmore and Aquarius Pettaway led the team, each scoring 14 points. Freshman Destiny Mason added 10 points. 

With this win, the Eagles are now 14-9 on the season and 12-7 in conference play. They sit at sixth place in NJCAA Region 10 DII standings. The top three teams in the conference will receive byes into the quarterfinals of the Region Tournament, with teams seeded four through eight hosting first round games. The Eagles are 3.5 games back of the number three spot with five conference games remaining.

Next up, the Eagles host Southwest Virginia this Saturday, February 17th at 2:00pm at the South Campus Gym. Before the game, this year's sophomore class will be recognized ahead of their final regular season home game at Wake Tech. Southwest Virginia's Flying Eagles are 14-7 on the season and 11-6 in conference play. Southwest Virginia won the first matchup between these two teams 74-65 back on December 9th. Brooklyn Ragland was the Eagles' leading scorer that night with a career-high 17 points.
