WSoc: Eagles Announce New Women's Soccer Coach

Kristopher Hanks will serve as head coach for the women?s soccer program.

Wake Tech Athletic Director Barry Street announced today that Kristopher Hanks will serve as head coach for the women's soccer program.

"Kristopher has outstanding experience and an undeniable energy." Street said, "It's a combination that will breathe new life into our program while challenging his players each and every day.  I'm impressed with his emphasis on higher education and I know our student-athletes will thrive under his leadership."

Coach Hanks is no stranger to the game of soccer.  He gained valuable experience while playing for Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine. After moving to North Carolina, Kristopher served as an assistant coach for Shaw University's men's and women's soccer programs in 2016-2017. He took the reigns as head coach of Women's Club Soccer at High Point University in 2017-2018.

"I am excited about coming to Wake Tech." Hanks said, "I'm thrilled to be a part of a cultural revolution in the women's soccer program. There have been several tough years and I'm proud to have the chance to come in and work with our student-athletes to completely change how Region X and the NJCAA perceive us. It is very exciting to be on the ground floor of something that has the chance to be so huge!"

Higher education is crucial for Coach Hanks. While coaching, he'll continue his own enrichment as he pursues a master's degree in Soccer Coaching Education from Ohio University.

He feels his players should mirror his enthusiasm, "It's important to be in class. You come to school for one reason: graduate and use that diploma to guarantee a better station in life for yourself and your family."
