Five Eagles named to NJCAA women’s soccer All-Region 10 teams

Alex Whetstone, women's soccer head coach, announced five Eagles have landed on the NJCAA All-Region 10 teams.

Catherine Doyen, a freshman defender from Apex, NC (Middle Creek), was named to the first team. She played in 13 games with two goals during her freshman campaign.

Maddie Smith and Rebecca Howard were named to the second team.  Smith, a freshman midfielder from Fuquay-Varina, NC (Fuquay-Varina), played in 13 games scoring nine goals and was second in the conference with 12 assists. Howard, a sophomore midfielder from Fuquay-Varina, NC (Fuquay-Varina), played in 13 games this season scoring four goals with one assists.

Sara Zacharias and Emily Lawson were each named to the third team. Zacharias. A freshman forward from Apex, NC (Middle Creek), played in 13 games scoring 12 goals with five assists. Lawson, a freshman midfielder from Cary, NC (Green Hope), appeared in 13 games scoring 14 goals with 11 assists.  She was fifth in conference for goals scored, third in conference for assists, and fourth overall in total points. 

The Eagles (8-4-2) advanced to the semifinal game of the Region 10 tournament for the second consecutive season.
