Eagles hold off Hurricanes to secure victory

RALEIGH, NC – Wake Tech Women's Soccer defeated Louisburg College 4-2 in an important NJCAA Region 10 divisional match on Friday afternoon at WRAL Soccer Park.

The Eagles' Emily Parker scored first in the 23rd minute with an unassisted goal.  Louisburg answered with a goal from Morgan Jones just two minutes later.  Jones' goal was assisted by Clara Vera.

The game was tied at 1-1 at intermission as both teams were held off the scoreboard for the next 40 minutes of play.

Molly Schnitzer found the back of the net with an assist from Parker at the 63rd minute for Wake Tech (3-1; 2-1).  Victoria Renna added a goal two minutes later with another assist from Parker.

The Hurricanes (2-5-1; 2-2) final goal came in the 72nd minute came from Stephanie Mendoza to bring Louisburg within one goal.

Parker scored the insurance goal in the 73rd minute to secure the 4-2 win.

The Eagles host Cape Fear Community College on Wednesday, September 27, at 1:30pm at WRAL Soccer Park Stadium Field.
