Eagles conclude regular season with road win over Louisburg

LOUISBURG, NC — Wake Tech Women's Soccer finished their regular season schedule with a 2-1 win over conference foes Louisburg on Wednesday. The Eagles finish the regular season with a 5-2 record and 4-2 in conference play, which was good for second place behind only Cape Fear.

It didn't take long for the Eagles to open the scoring on Wednesday, with sophomore forward Emily Parker scoring her team-leading ninth goal in the 5th minute. 20 minutes later, sophomore forward Victoria Renna bagged her seventh goal of the campaign to double the Wake Tech lead.

Louisburg scored just before halftime in the 39th minute to make it 2-1, but neither team would find the back of the net after the break.

In the second half, the Eagles held the Hurricanes to just one shot on goal. For the entire game, freshman goalkeeper Jaylin Perla made one save and conceded one goal on a total of four shots.

They will enter the NJCAA Region 10 Division II Tournament as the #2 seed and will host Louisburg in the semifinal on Thursday, October 19 at 1:30pm at WRAL Soccer Park. This will be a rematch of last year's semifinal, which Louisburg won 1-0.
