WVB: Eagles Cruise to Victory over Vance-Granville

Wake Tech defeats VGCC 3 sets to 0.

Wake Tech volleyball opened the 2018 season with a 3 set sweep of Vance-Granville Community College on Wednesday, August 22.

The Eagles were rolling along after a 25-7 first set but ran into some trouble midway through the second.  The Vanguards were able to fight back to make it a healthy battle but eventually gave up the second frame by a score of 25-18.  The third and final set was a back-and-forth struggle, but just when it looked like VGCC may take control, Wake Tech was able to pull away and close out the final set by a score of 25-13.

Sophomores Timia Grant and Shaelyn Squeri had 6 kills each while Timia added 7 digs in the win.

Freshman Breelyn Clark had a solid first match by providing 12 assists, 5 digs, and 2 kills.
