Wake Tech Athletic Director Barry Street announced today that Brian Harris will serve as head coach for the volleyball program.

"Brian has a wealth of experience as a head coach," Street said, "I believe Brian will add to our successful volleyball program while challenging his players each and every day.  I'm impressed with his emphasis on higher education and I know our student-athletes will thrive under his leadership."

Coach Harris is no stranger to volleyball.  He graduated from The Citadel and has been coaching volleyball since 2005.  Coach Harris has experience on several different levels- including middle, high school, and club volleyball. Brian and his wife have two daughters, one is a junior in college and one is a senior in high school.  Both of them played high school and club volleyball.

"I am so grateful for this opportunity," Harris said, "Volleyball is the ultimate team sport. One player can't do it by themselves. Therefore, players have to be selfless, invest in, and love each other."

Higher education is crucial for Coach Harris, "As a teacher and coach, I am invested in their overall success as a student, an athlete, and as a person.  It is important to me that I support them and help them reach their individual goals."
