Eagles open 2022 campaign with consecutive victories

RALEIGH, NC - Wake Tech defeated Lenoir Community College 3-1 on Tuesday evening at the Conlon Hall Gymnasium to start the 2022 campaign with a 2-0 record.

The Eagles took a 2-0 advantage winning the first two sets 25-19 and 25-13.  However, Lenoir edged Wake Tech 25-20 in the third set.  The Eagles took the fourth set and the match with a decisive 25-13 victory.

Freshman outside hitter Gabi Greene paced the Eagles at the net with 12 kills and sophomore outside hitter Lauren Baker added nine.

Anna Sipe, a freshman setter, also had six aces and sophomore setter Ja'keya Paylor recorded four.

Defensively, sophomore middle hitter Jaide Holliday had four block solos and two block assists. Kennedy George, a freshman middle hitter, had three solo blocks and two block assists. Sophomore libero Jorja Tuten had 11 digs with Greene picking up seven 

Wake Tech travels to William Peace University on Saturday for a scrimmage.
