Volleyball improves to 4-1 with victory over Southwest Virginia

RALEIGH, NC – Wake Tech Volleyball defeated Southwest Virginia Community College in straight sets to improve to 4-1 this season.

In the first set, SWVA took a 14-13 advantage before the Eagles used a 12-3 run to close out the opening set for the 25-17 win.

Wake Tech dominated the second set with 25-9 victory. In the third set, both teams traded leads and the game was tied at 13 before the Eagles pulled away with a 5-1 run and held on for the 25-20 win.

Gabi Carter recorded seven kills to lead the Eagles. Sophia Smallwood added six kills and Kennedy George had five. George also had three service aces. Marcy Oros had a team high 16 digs and Grace Covington had 10. Jasmine Roberson had a team high 13 assists.

The Eagles host Fayetteville Tech (1-0) on Thursday at 6pm at the Scott Northern Wake Campus Gym (Building K | Conlon Hall).
