Talon the Eagle was named the official mascot of Wake Tech Athletics on April 29, 2008. The selection of a college mascot came after more than 1,700 votes were cast online in a weeklong election. Six mascots were competing in the final vote after students and faculty submitted almost 500 suggestions. The other finalists were Wildcats, Warriors, Wings, Sparks and Ventures.
Over the years, Talon has become a staple of Wake Tech Athletics and Wake Technical Community College.
Although Talon keeps a very busy schedule during the athletic season, he loves getting out in the community to see all of his fans. He visits schools, civic groups, festivals, and more. Talon resides at the Eagles' Nest at the Southern Wake Campus, but he likes to get out to see fans all over the Triangle. Talon is available for your visit, free of charge!
