Seventeen Eagles earn NJCAA Academic All-Academic Honors

RALEIGH, NC – Seventeen Wake Tech Eagles earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic recognition for the 2022-23 academic year.

The NJCAA announced the 2022-23 All-Academic honors on Monday, recognizing student-athletes across the country for their dedication in the classroom. 

Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2022-23 academic year and completing a minimum of 24 credit hours.  For Wake Tech, eight different sports had representatives on the NJCAA All-Academic Teams with baseball leading the way with six members.  All eight NJCAA teams for Wake Tech are represented including Court Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Softball, Men's Baseball and Women's Basketball.

The criteria for the three All-Academic teams are listed below:

NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
- Leslie Trejo (W. Basketball)
- Anna Sipe (Court Volleyball)
- Frederick Pierce (Baseball)

NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
- Ellexa Falzarano (Court Volleyball/Beach Volleyball)
- Kayla Jackson (Women's Basketball)
- Caleb Pendleton (Men's Basketball)
- Luke Dunne (Men's Soccer)
- James "Patch" Lyman (Baseball)

NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA
- Kelan Polard (Baseball)
- Atayla Sigler (Women's Soccer)
- Cadence Richardson (Softball)
- Anna Baraldi (Softball)
- Rachel Magee (Women's Soccer)
- Samuel Inscoe (Men's Soccer)
- Peyton Davis (Baseball)
- Jason Jelic (Baseball)
- Chase Koster (Baseball)

2,702 student-athletes garnered NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors after achieving a 4.0 GPA. 3,347 student-athletes were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team while 4,117 student-athletes received third-team recognition.
