RALEIGH, NC – Wake Tech Women's Basketball and Men's Basketball teams have each earned early recognition in the National Junior College Athletic Association preseason polls.
Women's basketball earned a No. 19 ranking in the poll released on Monday by the NJCAA. Meanwhile, men's basketball received votes in the preseason poll also released on Monday.
Women's basketball finished the 2021-22 season ranked No. 12 and qualified for the NJCAA national tournament by winning the NJCAA Region 10 Division II regular season title and finished with a 25-4 record. The Eagles are the highest ranked team in NJCAA Region 10 in the NJCAA preseason poll.
Men's basketball is the second highest ranked team in NJCAA Region 10 in the preseason rankings. Last year, Wake Tech was ranked No. 18 in the final NJCAA poll and was the regular season runners-up in the NJCAA Region 10 DII standings and finished with a 20-6 record.
Women's basketball opens up the 2022-23 season on Tuesday, November 1, at home against Guilford Tech. Men's basketball opens up the 2022-23 season on Friday, November 4, against Hagerstown (Md.) Community College at Louisburg College.
