November Student-Athlete Spotlight: Averi Richmond, Andrew Navarro

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake Tech Athletics is proud to recognize two outstanding student-athletes as part of its Student-Athlete Spotlight for the month of November. This monthly honor highlights individuals who excel not only in their respective sports, but also in the classroom and the community. Averi Richmond (Women's Soccer) and Andrew Navarro (Men's Basketball) are the honorees for the month of October.

Averi Richmond, Women's Soccer

Richmond put together a stellar season in defense for the women's soccer program. She received first-team All-Region honors in her lone season for the Eagles, and finished the campaign with two goals and one assist. One of those goals came in the semifinal of the NJCAA South District Championship, kickstarting a comeback effort that fell just short against eventual champions Southern Union State.

Andrew Navarro, Men's Basketball

Navarro, a transfer from Napa Valley, has provided tons of offensive production for the Eagles in the early stages of their season. The sophomore guard is averaging a team-leading 17.2 points per game, and had his best scoring night yet on the road against Richard Bland, scoring 36 points in the 96-86 double overtime victory. It was the most points scored in a single game for Wake Tech since Ceejay Jordan put together a 37-point performance against Gaston two seasons ago.

Men's basketball has won their last six games and have two remaining games before the holiday break.
