Wake Tech Tops Louisburg College, 11-4

A six-run explosion in the sixth inning hoisted the Eagles to an 11-4 win over Louisburg College at Louisburg College on Wednesday.

The Eagles scored in the sixth on a groundout by Garrett Wise, a passed ball, a two-run single by Caleb Coyle, and a two-run home run by Matt Mauldin.  Coyle helped the Eagles take the lead for good in the sixth inning.  Coyle racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Eagles.
 
Keegan Woolford put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Eagles. He doubled in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.
 
Austin Deal got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed one run over two innings.  Deal struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.

Louisburg College jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. A single by Jordan Sergent, plating Bryce Meyers started the inning off. Louisburg College pushed more runs across when Sergent scored on an RBI double by Henry Niblock.

One Eagle baserunners came all the way around to score in each of the fourth, fifth and eighth. In the fourth, the Eagles scored on an RBI single by Travis Owens, scoring Woolford.

Wake Tech built upon their lead with two runs in the seventh. A error scored Woolford to get the Eagles on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Owens' single, plating Kyle Lowke.
