The Eagles jumped out to an early lead on Lenoir Community College and captured an 11-1 victory at North Main Athletic Complex.
An RBI single by Angel Santiago in the first inning and a two-run triple byMatt Mauldin, an RBI double by Garrett Wise, and an RBI single by Santiago during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Eagles.
Wise went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Eagles.
Justin Huggins got the win for the Eagles. He allowed one run over five innings. Huggins struck out four, walked two and gave up five hits.
Hargrove took the loss for Lenoir CC. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
Wake Tech answered Lenoir's top inning with one run of their own in the first.
The Eagles brought home one run in the third inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the third, the Eagles scored on a sacrifice fly by Jacob Sipe, plating Austin Warren.
Eagle batters piled on four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Santiago's triple got things going, plating Keegan Woolford and Wise.
