Eagles Get Past Catawba Valley, 10-7 in 1st Round of Tournament.
The Eagles scored in the first on a walk by Austin Warren, a walk by Austin Fischer, a bases loaded walk, an RBI single by Caleb Coyle, and an RBI single by Matt Mauldin.
 
Travis Owens racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Eagles. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth and sixth innings.
 
Justin Huggins got the win for the Eagles despite allowing five runs over seven innings. Huggins struck out eight, walked four and gave up nine hits.
Hall was charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out none.

Eagles closer Amlicar Yanez put away the final out to record the save.

Wake Tech pushed one run across in each of the fourth, sixth and seventh. In the fourth, the Eagles scored on an RBI single by James Creel, plating Owens.
After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the sixth, Catawba Valley faced a 9-4 deficit. A two-run home run by Zalewa and an RBI single by Painton gave the Red Hawks life. Finally, Huggins induced an inning-ending fly out from Ty Andrus.
One run in the bottom of the seventh helped Catawba Valley close its deficit to 10-5.
One Red Hawk run crossed the plate in the bottom half of the eighth, making the score 10-6. A solo home run by Painton set off Catawba Valley rally, but Ortiz flew out to end the threat.
