Two Eagles commit to four-year colleges

RALEIGH, NC – Wake Tech baseball coach Robert Dudley today announced that Jordan Blalock and Josiah Barhite will continue their educational and athletic careers at four-year colleges.

Blalock, a sophomore from Raleigh, NC (Sanderson), has committed to Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky. He made five appearances on the mound for the Eagles in 2021.  He pitched 5.2 innings with four strikeouts recording a win against Lenoir Community College in relief on April 14 and a save against Cleveland Community College on May 1.   He appeared in 13 games with 12 plate appearances.    During the COVID shortened 2020 season, he had three strikeouts in 3.0 innings of action. 

Barhite, a sophomore from Charlotte, NC, has committed to St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC. He appeared in 13 games during his 2021 season on the mound for Wake Tech.   He had 26 strikeouts in 28.0 innings pitched.  He earned one win, one save, and two losses in 2021. His win was against Thomas Nelson (Va.) Community College on March 3 and picked up an important save on April 23 against national ranked Patrick Henry (Va.) Community College.   During the COVID shortened 2020 season, he had 13 strikeouts in 13.1 innings of action.  

The Eagles finished their 2021 campaign with a 20-17 record and advanced to the NJCAA Region 10 D2 tournament as the third seed in the championship.
