RALEIGH, NC – Wake Technical Community College head baseball coach Robert Dudley announced the team captains for the 2022 campaign.

The captains, voted on by the team, are Bryson Wagner, Matt Long, Christian Schmidt, and Andy Duran.

"This group personifies everything that Wake Tech Baseball is all about. Their teammates chose them to represent them and I am lucky to have them leading the way," said Dudley.

Wagner, a sophomore utility from Salisbury, NC, saw action in 14 games. He pitched in 50 innings and earned four wins on the mound.

Long, a sophomore IF/OF from Fuquay-Varina, NC, appeared in 37 games and hit .287. He also recorded eight home runs.

Schmidt, a sophomore infielder from Apex, NC, hit .303 in 34 games. He had eight doubles, three triples, and three home runs.

Duran, a sophomore outfielder from Charlotte, NC, appeared in 22 games in 2021 and hit .255.

The Eagles' 2022 season is slated to start on Saturday, January 29, at Fayetteville Tech.
