Aaron Slep made his 10th start of the season, reaching double digit starts for the second consecutive season. He went five innings and held the Flying Eagles to three runs, with only two of them earned. Connor Shoulders pitched a clean sixth inning before the run rule came into affect in the bottom half of the inning.
Colton Penner recorded his fourth-career three-hit game, and the second of his sophomore campaign. He led the team with 5 RBI, also tying a career-high and doing it for the third time in his career. He went on to have another three-hit, five-RBI game in the series finale. Nick Schultz, Jentz Steiner, and John Mason also had multi-hit performances.
Game 2 (10-0 win, six innings)
Grayson McDonald got the ball for game two on Saturday, and pitched five shutout innings. He recorded a career-high nine strikeouts, and this marked his first start for Wake Tech without allowing a run. Josh Horton pitched the sixth and final inning, keeping the Flying Eagles off the board.
The Eagles' bats were kept quiet in the early innings, but a three-run homer from Jentz Steiner in the fourth blew it open and made it a 7-0 lead. The homer was Steiner's first in his collegiate career. Sophomore infielder Matthew Cipriano picked up three hits in the 10-0 victory.

As a team, Wake Tech hit a season-high four home runs, coming from Penner, Max Gustafson, Cipriano, and Austin Mooring. Blake Gaffney recorded his second three-hit game of the season and picked up two RBI to bring his team-leading total to 40.
