Eagles Rocket League looking for NJCAAE Premier Series Championship

RALEIGH, NC - The Wake Tech Esports Rocket League team is looking for their first National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) Premier Series National Title on Friday, December 13, at 9 p.m.

The Eagles entered the NJCAAE National Postseason bracket as the No. 6 seed, but have had no issues thus far with the higher-ranked teams in the tournament. They shutout #2 Laredo (TX) College 3-0 and #2 Iowa Western Community College 3-0.  That set up a match-up with No. 1 Daytona State (FL) College on December 12 with the Eagles winning a 3-2 thriller.  The Falcons knocked off Wake Tech in the East Division championship 3-1 earlier in the season.

Wake Tech will play the winner of Daytona State vs. #5 Columbia Basin (WA) for the championship. The game will be streamed live on www.twitch.tv/njcaae.  A win at 9pm will secure the championship trophy.  If the Eagles drop game one, it will force a second game in the double elimination bracket. There were a total of 31 teams that competed in NJCAAE Premier Series Rocket League scheduled in the Fall.

Wake Tech's Rocket League team did win the NJCAAE Open Division Championship in the Fall of 2022.

Meanwhile, the League of Legends team was eliminated from their chance of a third consecutive NJCAAE championship by Northern Virginia Community College.  Wake Tech will be play for third place on Saturday at 3pm.   They will play Keyano College from Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.  There were a total of 12 teams that competed in Wake Tech's division in the Fall in League of Legends.
