Eagle Esports competes in Triangle Takedown

RALEIGH – Over a dozen Wake Tech students competed March 21-23 at the inaugural Triangle Takedown hosted by North Carolina State University.

The event allowed Wake Tech teams in Rocket League, League of Legends, Overwatch and Valorant to compete against universities from across North Carolina.  Wake Tech was the only two-year college to participate in the three-day event held at the new NC State esports venue at the Hunt Library.

Members of the Wake Tech Rocket League advanced to the championship game before falling to UNC Charlotte.  Valorant advanced to the semifinals before High Point University rallied to edge the Eagles just one match short of the championship.

Other participating colleges included Appalachian State, UNC Wilmington, and UNC Chapel Hill.
