The Road to Danville Starts Tuesday for Wake Tech

2022 Tournament Bracket

RALEIGH, NC – The road to the National Junior College Athletic Association DII National Tournament starts on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at the Wake Tech South Campus when the 2022 Region 10 tournament tips off.

The Eagles, the second seed, will host Louisburg College in the quarterfinals.  Tuesday's game will be the second consecutive matchup between the Eagles and the Hurricanes. Louisburg, the seventh seed, visited Wake Tech on Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale for both teams. The Eagles downed Louisburg 105-81 on Saturday.

Due to COVID 19 protocols, the tournament is being hosted at the highest seed in each game.

The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, February 24, and the Region 10 championship game will take place on Saturday, February 26.

The Eagles finished the 2021-22 regular season with a record of 19-5 and 16-3 in conference games.  They also knocked off top-seeded Davidson-Davie Community College back in November.  The Storm finished 27-2 and 21-1 in conference play.

The winner of the Region 10 tournament gets an automatic berth to the NJCAA National Tournament held March 15-19 in Danville, Ill.  Wake Tech has made two appearances in the NJCAA Tournament finishing as high fourth in 2014.  Wake Tech also traveled to Danville in 2019.
