Jordan and Volkerts receive All-Region honors

RALEIGH, NC — Two Wake Tech Men's Basketball players were named to the All-Region 10 Second Team yesterday, sophomores Ceejay Jordan and Eddie Volkerts

Jordan is enters the postseason as the team's leading scorer for the second straight season, averaging 16.5 points per game, which is fifth-best among all Region 10 DI players. He has rattled off nine 20+ point performances, including a career-high 37 on the road against Gaston which helped propel Wake Tech to an 85-77 win. This is Jordan's second time receiving All-Region 10 honors, he was named to the third team at the Division II level last season. 

Volkerts is also receiving Region 10 honors for the second time. In 2018 he was named to the first team at the Division II level, and after his return to Wake Tech after serving for five years in the U.S. Army, he receives Region 10 Division I second team honors. Volkerts is second only to Jordan on the team in scoring, averaging 16.2 points per game, and is also second on the team with 2.5 assists per game. This season, Volkerts eclipsed the 1,000-career point mark and also became Wake Tech's all-time leading scorer. He is currently at 1,089 career points. He has had seven 20+ point performances, including a 29-point night on sophomore night against Brunswick, the same day he broke the scoring record. 

The Eagles begin postseason play tonight as the #3-seed in the Region 10 Division I Tournament, taking on #6-seed Richard Bland. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00pm. This tournament also serves as the NJCAA Atlantic District Championship, meaning the winner receives an automatic bid to the NJCAA National Tournament later this month in Hutchinson, Kan. The tournament is being played at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, NC. All games will be streamed here
