Brandon Kind named men's soccer head coach

RALEIGH, NC – Wake Tech Athletic Director Robin Pate announced today that Brandon Kind has been named head coach of the Eagles' men's soccer program. He is the sixth head coach in program history. Kind has been with the program since the 2022 season when he joined Omar Asad's staff as an assistant coach.

"Coach Kind has put a lot into this program over the last two seasons and has built strong relationships with our student-athletes," Pate said. "This is a pivotal moment for our program, and everything he has shown during this transition proves to me he is the right person for the job."

"It's an honor and a privilege to be named head coach of this great program," Kind said. "Coach Asad has left a special imprint on this team with his passion and commitment through his tenure here."

Kind was the head coach at his alma mater, Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee for 10 years (2006-14). While at the helm, he led the Hilltoppers to multiple state championship finals. He was then head coach at Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala, Florida for five years (2016-20). Kind now lives in Raleigh with his wife, Laura and their three children, where he has coached for Wake Tech and North Carolina FC at the club level.

"I plan to work extremely hard as we continue to raise our standards on and off the pitch," Kind said. "We have a strong culture here and a very talented group of young men."

The Brandon Kind era gets underway on Friday afternoon when the Eagles take on Cape Fear in their first conference match of the season at WRAL Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30pm.
