Winning streak extends to 10 for softball

RALEIGH, N.C. — After a four-game sweep over Southwest Virginia this weekend, Wake Tech Softball extended their winning streak to 10 games. The Eagles are now 10-6 on the season, and 8-2 in conference play, marking the best start to a season in program history.

Cyndia Dobbins had another stellar game at the plate in game one on Sunday, going 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI. In game two, a group of freshman players combined for the majority of the offensive production. Jada Graves led the way with a career-high four RBI, but Gabrielle Spencer, Cooper Michno, and Ashlyn Gaskins also added two RBI each.

Sophomore right-hander Leah Correll hurled two complete game shutouts on the weekend, recording 20 strikeouts.

This week, the Eagles head to Myrtle Beach for six games at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic. They will play five different schools over three days at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex, starting with St. Charles and Madison on Monday, March 17.
