Gabriella Johnson commits to Mary Baldwin

Wake Tech head women's basketball coach Alison Beasley announced that Gabriella Johnson will continue her education and athletic career at Mary Baldwin (Va.) University.

Johnson played in 53 games, and started in 18 games, in her two season with the Eagles.  The 5-foot-3 guard averaged 1.5 points per game.

"She has been a big leader for Wake Tech on and off the court," said Beasley. "Gabriella was a captain for us in her sophomore season. She is always a good teammate that just knows how to make everyone smile."

Johnson helped lead Wake Tech (21-7) to the program's first NJCAA Region 10 D-II Championship.

She is a native of Oahu, Hawaii and prepped at Freedom High School in Woodbridge, Va.

Mary Baldwin (NCAA D3) is a member of the USA South Conference and is located in Staunton, Va.
