Vann named Region 10 DII Player of the Year; Taylor named Second Team

Anna Vann Player of the Year; Taylor Buchanan Second Team

RALEIGH, NC – Wake Tech's Anna Vann was selected the 2022 National Junior College Athletic Association Region 10 DII Women's Basketball Player of the Year.

Vann, who was selected by the region's head coaches, is a sophomore from Philadelphia, Pa. She averaged 21.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game in conference games this season.  The 5-7 guard currently leads NJCAA Region 10 in points per game (20.9) and is second is assist (6.8).  She is second in the nation with 5.2 steals per game.

"Anna is one of a kind. She is a sponge and a true leader for this team. She gives it 110% on and off the court. She has a gear that she can switch into unlike anyone else," said head coach Alison Beasley. "While this is a big accomplishment, she understands the mission isn't complete."

Taylor Buchanan, a sophomore from Florence, SC, earned second team honors.  Buchanan is averaging 14.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.

In addition, Anna Baraldi was named to the Region 10 All-Academic Team.  Baraldi, from Rome, Italy, is a transfer from Dodge City Community College and has maintained a 4.0 GPA.  She attended Grace Christian School in Sanford, NC.
