Wake Tech Ticket Punched to NJCAA Tournament

RALEIGH, NC – Wake Tech Women's Basketball is headed to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Women's Basketball Championship Tournament and on Tuesday, March 8, the Eagles will learn their seed and first opponent.

The live broadcast of the NJCAA Selection Show for the women's tournament is at 3 p.m. on the NJCAA Network. The show will feature bracket reveals, on-air analysis, highlights, exclusive interviews, and in-depth information about the tournament. The Eagles (25-2) will gather in the Wake Tech South Campus Gym (Building N) to watch the show.

Students, employees, and the community are invited to watch with the team. Refreshments will be served at 2:30 p.m. in the lobby before the bracket reveal at 3 p.m. The NJCAA DII Tournament is March 15-19 at St. Clair County Community College (SC4) Fieldhouse in Port Huron, Mich.

Wake Tech, ranked No. 12 in the country, clinched their spot in the tournament by winning the NJCAA Region 10 DII regular season with a 17-1 record. This is the second time the Wake Tech women's basketball team has qualified for the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.

The Eagles qualified in 2020, but the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Wake Tech did not have a team for the 2020-21 season.
