Johnson leads the way for Eagles in regular season finale

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake Tech Women's Basketball concluded their regular season schedule on Tuesday evening with a 62-54 win over Guilford Tech at the Southern Wake Campus Gym. Entering the postseason, the Eagles have a 10-17 (7-13 conf.) record, good for seventh place in Region 10 Division II. 

Freshman guard Reily Johnson finished as the team's leading scorer, going 5-for-11 from the field and recording a career-high 15 points. Freshman forward Kelyce McSwain also had a big game, tallying 14 points on 7-for-11 shooting. 

The Eagles are now set to host a first-round game in the NJCAA Region 10 Division II Tournament. It will be played on Monday, March 3 at 6:00 pm at the Southern Wake Campus Gym. The opponent is not yet set, it will be either Guilford Tech or Brunswick. The winner of that game will advance to the quarterfinals at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC, where the remainder of the tournament will be hosted.
