Whetstone steps down as WT women’s soccer coach

Wake Technical Community College athletic director Brian Anweiler announced that Alex Whetstone has resigned as the head women's soccer coach.

Whetsone has accepted a fulltime position with the North Carolina Football Club Youth program as the Recreation Administrator.

"Alex stepped in early in the season to fill the position and did an outstanding job leading the team to a semifinal appearance in the Region 10 Tournament," said Anweiler. "He was an outstanding representative of our athletic program and I thank him for his contributions to Wake Tech Athletics."

The 2019 Eagles finished the season with an 8-4-2 record.

A search for a new coach is underway and applicants can apply through the Wake Tech employment website.
