CASTLE HAYNE, NC - Wake Technical Community College wrapped up the 2021 season with the NJCAA Region 10 Runners-up Champion title following a 6-0 setback to Cape Fear Community College.
The Eagles and Sea Devils (10-0-1) played the first 30 minutes scoreless before CFCC scored the first goal and added one more with under 30 seconds to play in the opening half. CFCC would add four more goals in the second half.
Wake Tech only managed one shot on goal. Josi Higgins put one within the frame on a free kick in the second half.
Saturday's Region 10 Championship was the first appearance by the Wake Tech Women's Soccer program. The Eagles finished with a 5-4 overall record and a 4-2 record in Region 10 play.
