RALEIGH, NC — Wake Tech Women's Soccer opens their 2024 season on Friday afternoon against Pasco-Hernando State College. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30pm at WRAL Soccer Park. All home games will be played at Field 6. The Eagles are coming off a successful season that saw them reach the Region 10 Division II Championship game, where they fell 1-0 against Cape Fear. They finished the season with a 6-3 record. 

There are eight returning players from last year's squad, including Savannah Backholm who finished her freshman season with three goals and seven assists. Backholm and Ximena Sanchez Hernandez are the only two returning players to have started all nine games last season. 

This will be the first ever matchup between Wake Tech and Pasco-Hernando. On Monday, August 26, the Eagles take on Region 10 DI opponent Southwest Virginia, as the team continues to build towards conference play.
