RALEIGH, NC — Wake Tech Women's Soccer fell 4-0 to Pasco-Hernando State in the season opener. The Bobcats got on the board early with an 8th-minute goal from Maelyn Bernardo. They doubled their lead in the 22nd minute when Jilian Boswell made it 2-0.
Nemesis Arroyo Vazquez made it 3-0 quickly after that with a goal in the 26th minute. The fourth and final goal came in the 78th minute from Klarissa Zawosky.
Freshman midfielder Jessica McCune recorded both shots on goal for the Eagles and also hit one off the crossbar in the second half, the team's biggest chance of the game. Sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Meyer tallied 15 saves despite conceding four goals.
Wake Tech is back in action on Monday, August 26 against Southwest Virginia. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 pm.
