- Head Coach, Women's Soccer
Sebastian Vecchio was named head coach of the Wake Tech women's soccer program in June 2025.
Vecchio most recently served as associate head coach at North Carolina State University (2023-25), where he played a pivotal role in recruiting, player development, and program management for the Wolfpack women’s soccer program.
Prior to NC State, he was the head coach at California State University Bakersfield (2018-23), where his leadership helped elevate the Roadrunners to new heights — including back-to-back WAC Tournament bids in 2018 and 2019. In 2019, Vecchio led the team to a nine-win season, the highest total in 19 years.
He coached eight all-conference honorees (WAC and Big West) and 23 student-athletes earned academic all-conference honors during his tenure.
Before being named head coach at CSU Bakersfield, Vecchio served as an assistant at Vanderbilt University, Texas Christian University, and the University of Memphis, where he began his coaching career as a goalkeeper coach. He also played goalkeeper for the men’s soccer program at Memphis. He has coached players with national team experience, consistently elevated recruiting efforts, and prioritized student-athlete development both on and off the field at each of his stops.
