Three Eagles earn all-region recognition 

RALEIGH, NC (Nov. 1, 2019) – Three Wake Tech Eagles have been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 10 All-Region teams.

Breelyn Clark, a sophomore from Hawaii, was named to the Region 10 First Team for the second straight season. Clark leads the team with 619 assists. She also leads Region 10 with 8.97 assists per set and paces the Eagles with 50 service aces. Clark is also one of three in Region 10 nominated for All-American status. 

Eliza Thoto and Jessica Barefoot were named Second Team All-Region. Thoto, a freshman from Knightdale, leads the team with 212 kills and is third with 145 digs while tallying a team high 265 points and is also fifth in the region with 2.83 kills per set. Barefoot, a freshman from Raleigh, is second on the team with 2.39 kills per set and is second with 46 service aces.

"We are incredibly proud of the recognition these three talented student athletes have received," said Wake Tech Head Volleyball Coach Brian Harris. "They work hard to improve as individuals and selflessly train to improve the team." 

Wake Tech heads into the Region 10 Division II tournament today as a three seed with a 19-4 overall record and a 9-2 conference record. The Eagles, winners of six straight games, open the tournament against Fayetteville Tech at 6:00 p.m. The NJCAA Region 10 Tournament is hosted by Surry Community College.
